How things work

Practical answers for day-to-day stuff. For policy and what belongs on REVOFORGE, read the Guidelines.

01

Accounts & sign-in

I can't sign in.

Try the password reset link on the sign-in page. If that still doesn't work, email [email protected]with your username and we'll help.

How do I change my username?

Settings → Account. Old profile URLs forward to the new username for 30 days, so links you've shared keep working during the transition.

How do I change my email?

Settings → Account. You'll be sent a verification link to the new address — you need to click it before the change takes effect.

What's the difference between pausing and deleting?

Pause hides your profile and stops notifications, but everything (galleries, messages, collaborations) is preserved. Sign in any time to resume. Delete removes you permanently, with a 14-day grace period during which you can sign back in to restore. After 14 days, everything is gone.

What happens to my messages and collaborations if I delete?

After the 14-day grace, messages and inquiries you sent stay in the other person's inbox (labeled "deleted user"), but your profile link breaks. Confirmed collaborations remain on the other party's record. Vouches you gave stay; vouches you received are removed.

02

Discovery & the map

Why isn't someone showing up on the map?

A few possibilities: their profile is set to Private, their availability is Closed, your compensation preferences don't match theirs (e.g. you're TFP-only and they're paid-only), your content-rating filter is hiding them, or one of you has blocked the other.

Why aren't I showing up on the map?

Check Settings → Profile → Privacy (should be Public or Signed-in only), that your home city is set, and that your availability isn't Closed. If any of those are off, you're not surfaced.

What does 'compatibility' mean?

Discovery only shows creators whose compensation preferences work with yours. If you're paid-only you won't see TFP-only creators and vice versa. Flexible (both) matches anyone.

How do I hide myself from the map?

Set your profile to Private in Settings → Profile. You disappear from discovery and search until you turn it back on. The map itself shows you a "Your profile is hidden" pill so you know.

How do filters work?

The filters panel on the right narrows by role, genres, compensation type, and availability. They stack — filters are AND, options within a filter are OR. The URL updates as you go, so you can share a filtered view.

03

Inquiries & messaging

What's the difference between 'open', 'peer-only', and 'closed' contact modes?

Open lets anyone signed in send you an inquiry. Peer-only restricts inquiries to people in your same role (photographers hearing from photographers, models from models). Closed turns off cold messages entirely — you can still initiate inquiries yourself. Set this in Settings → Profile.

What happens when someone accepts my inquiry?

A message thread opens automatically in your Inbox and both of you can continue there. If a date was set on the inquiry, a collaboration record is also auto-created and shows on your Collaborations page.

What's a 'compensation mismatch'?

The hard gate that stops inquiries between incompatible compensation types (paid-only ↔ TFP-only). You'll see it on the send button if it applies. This prevents wasted back-and-forth.

How many inquiries can I send?

Up to 10 to the same recipient per 24 hours, and up to 50 distinct recipients per 24 hours. Past those limits the send is rate-limited.

Can I see inquiries I've sent?

Yes — avatar menu → Sent inquiries. Shows pending, accepted, and declined.

Can I withdraw an inquiry?

Not yet. The list is read-only for now. If you need to cancel something urgently, message the recipient in the inbox to explain.

04

Collaborations & vouches

How do collaborations get onto my profile?

Three ways: (1) an inquiry you sent is accepted with a date set → auto-created; (2) you apply to a casting and get booked → auto-created; (3) you claim an off-platform collab, the other party confirms → appears on both profiles. Unconfirmed claims don't show publicly.

What's a vouch?

A short public endorsement from someone you've worked with. They're reciprocal — your vouch for someone stays private until they vouch for you back. Once both exist, both appear publicly on each profile.

Why can't I see a vouch I wrote?

It's waiting on reciprocation. Your vouch stays private until the other person vouches for you too. Either of you can retract at any time.

How do I claim an off-platform collaboration?

On the other person's profile → "Claim collaboration" → enter dates. The other party gets a notification and confirms it from their end. You'll see it in your Collaborations list as "Pending" until then.

Can I retract a vouch?

Yes, any time, from the vouches surface on either profile. The retraction hides both sides of the reciprocal pair; the other person is notified.

05

Galleries & credits

How do I upload images?

Galleries → open a gallery → drop files onto the page, or click the upload area. JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, up to 30 MB each.

What's the difference between alt text and caption?

Alt textis for screen readers and SEO — it describes what's in the image and never shows visually. Captionis optional prose that displays under the image. A good alt answers "what's in this photo?"; a caption adds voice or context.

How do I set a cover image for a gallery?

In gallery edit, each image has a "Set cover" button. Click it on the image you want as the cover. AI-generated images can't be covers — see Guidelines §3.

What's a focal point?

The point in the image that stays visible when the image is cropped to different aspect ratios (cards, covers, avatars on your profile). Click "Focal" on a gallery image and drag the target. Defaults to center.

How do I credit a collaborator on an image?

In gallery edit → expand an image (Edit button) → Credits field at the bottom. Search by name or @username and click a result. They get a notification and must approve before the credit shows publicly.

What does 'AI-generated' do?

Flags the image as AI-generated. The image gets a public AI badge, can't carry credits, can't be a cover, and doesn't appear in collaborators' trust surfaces. Full policy: Guidelines §3.

How do I re-order images or move them between galleries?

Drag any image to re-order within a gallery. To move to another gallery: Shift/Cmd-click to select one or more images, then use the Move action that appears at the top.

What are content ratings (safe / artistic nudity / mature)?

Your rating per image controls who sees it — other users have a "show me up to" preference in their own settings, and images above that rating are hidden from them. Mature uploads require an age attestation on your profile.

06

Safety & privacy

How does blocking work?

One-way and silent. The blocked person can't message you, see your profile, or see you in search results. They are not notified. Manage blocks in Settings → Privacy & blocks.

What happens when I report someone?

A human reviews it, typically within 48 hours. You're not contacted during review unless we need more information. If action is taken (warning, suspension, removal), the reported account is notified with the reason — your identity isn't shared.

What counts as reportable?

Harassment, impersonation, stolen work, unsolicited sexual content in messages, underage subjects in mature imagery, fraudulent credit or collaboration claims. See Guidelines for the full list.

How do I control who sees my mature content?

Two sides to this: as an uploader, rate each image honestly (safe / artistic nudity / mature). As a viewer, set your preferred maximum in Settings — images above your max are hidden from you across the site.

What's 'private' vs 'signed-in only' profile visibility?

Public — anyone including anonymous web visitors can view your profile. Signed-in only — anonymous visitors see a sign-in prompt; signed-in members see the full profile. Private — only you can see your profile; hidden from discovery and search. Change in Settings → Profile.
